Project maintenance

Some of the basic functions required to manage your collection of Images and Interviews includes:


Renaming Projects, Images and Interviews

It is possible to rename Projects, Images and Interviews to give them better understandable names. To do that, you need to select the object that you want to rename and select a corresponding menu: Project | Rename Project, Image | Rename Image, or Interview | Rename Interview. This will cause the edit window to appear.

The Image below shows an edit window when renaming a newly recorded Interview.

Use the keyboard to edit the name of the object. Press Enter, when finished editing.


Deleting Projects, Images and Interviews

To remove a Project, Image or Interview that you don't need any more, select it, and select a corresponding menu: Project | Delete Project, Image | Delete Image, or Interview | Delete Interview.

ImageInterviewer will show a confirmation dialogue, like below.

Click OK to confirm deletion, or Cancel to cancel deletion. Note that when the Image is deleted, all of its Interviews are deleted as well. Similarly when the Project is deleted, all of its Images and their Interviews are deleted as well.


Add details about Images and Interviews

To view or add description (Notes) about an Image or an Interview, select one, then use Image | View Image Details or Interview | View Interview Details respectively. This will split the area where the tree of Projects is shown, so that the top part still shows the tree, and the bottom part of the panel displays the panel with fields that can be filled in. To hide the details after you have finished, select Image | Hide Image Details or Interview | Hide Interview Details.

The Image below shows the details of one Image.

You can write down the Photographer's name, the date when the picture was taken, or add some notes about the Image. The Interview details have some fields that cannot be edited, such as the date the Interview was recorded, or the length of the Interview. When the details of the Interview are being shown, the Image area shows the Points where clicks occured during recording process. The number in the top right corner of each point is the sequence number, in which the clicks occured. You can write down the name of the Interviewer and provide a list of Interviewees, you can specify the Interview number and add some notes about the Interview. Note, all the details entered in the fields below will be saved automatically and can be edited at any time.
