Backing up and exporting Projects for exchange

ImageInterviewer maintains all the Images and Interviews in a folder created for each individual Project. Therefore, if you know the location of that folder in your computer, you can back up the Project manually. However, ImageInterviewer lets you back them up without closing the application. As a result it creates a ZIP compressed file, containing all the Images and Interviews of the Project. It is possible to use this specially created ZIP compressed file to restore the Project, saved into it.

To back up a Project, or export it for exchange with other researchers, select the Project first. Then select Project | Export Project menu.

This will cause a dialogue box to pop up, where you will need to specify where to store the ZIP compressed file in your computer, and how to call it. The dialogue may look differently on other operating systems. The picture below shows how it looks on Windows XP.

Navigate the computer to find a suitable place and name the ZIP file conveniently. Press OK to create a back up copy of your Project. Now you can store the Project in the ZIP compressed file onto your back up media, or send to your colleagues.
